Power Supply Units

Introduction: Power Supply Units (PSUs) within the robot controller cabinet are responsible for converting mains voltage or intermediate DC bus voltage into regulated low-voltage DC power required by the controller's electronic units. This includes supplying power to the main computer, CPU, memory, I/O boards, drive systems and axis computers, communication interfaces and for all IRB brake units on manipulators and other external motors. It also includes customer specific 24V DC power supply in various units. PSU failure can lead to controller shutdown or erratic behavior. Note: These are distinct from the high-power Drive Units/Rectifiers supplying the motors. Component Scope: This category contains dedicated Power Supply Units designed for installation within robot controller racks and cabinets. It includes various PSU modules providing specific DC output voltages (e.g., +5V, +/-12V, +24V) required by the controller logic systems. Quality Assurance and Options: Refurbished PSUs are tested under load to verify voltage regulation, stability, and output capacity meet specifications. All units are supplied with a 12-month warranty. The exchange system is a common option for PSU replacement. Part Identification: Identify the required PSU using ABB specific part number found on the unit label (example: 3HAC…3HAB…) on the board or module. Also, it can be identified by the “DSQC” name.
